Golden Hearts of Sylvia Baptist Church is designed for seniors ages 50 years old and above. We love to come together throughout the year to enjoy being together and have a good time.
We meet on the third Saturday of each month at 5PM in the Fellowship Hall for our monthly Golden Hearts Fellowship. We start with a great catered, home cooked meal or a delicious pot-luck meal. Afterwards, we move into some fun entertainment by visiting groups. Each month the entertainment group is different. We have a variety of gospel, country, bluegrass, 40's, 50's, and 60's music groups. We may also have comedians, ventriloquists, and other programs of interest.
We take three to four day-trips each year throughout Tennessee, Kentucky, and Alabama on our comfortable church bus that seats 32 people. With group and senior discount rates, we are able to keep travel expenses at a very low cost to allow everyone an opportunity to have a great day of fun and fellowship that we will remember for a lifetime.
As a Golden Heart, if you have a need of minor home repairs or yard work, we have an active youth and men's ministry that are available and would love to assist you. If you have a need for trimming shrubs, planting flowers, raking leaves, changing light bulbs, unclogging sinks or gutters give the church a call and we can see how we can help. We would love to assist you in your minor repairs and advise on larger projects if needed.
Each month we will send out a Golden Hearts Newsletter to keep you informed of what is happening that month and the few months following. We also keep you informed about what is new in our church. Each month, we also list anyone celebrating birthdays and anniversaries so we can celebrate with them. Lastly, this newsletter contains a list of prayer requests and concerns of those who need prayer.
If you are age 50 or older, we would love for you to be a part of the Golden Hearts Ministry. You do not have to be a member of sylvia Baptist Church to be a part of our active and fun loving group. This ministry is for our community. Everyone is welcome to attend and bring a friend to any and all of our events. We are always looking for new and exciting ideas for activities and trips. So, please come and share your thoughts with us and help us get better as time goes by.
